The Manga “Jujutsu No Kaisen”: A Project Born from the Mind of a Creator That Has Captured the Attention of the Anime and Manga Community
According to its creators, this manga is not just a rehash but rather an “enhancement” of the official ending of Jujutsu Kaisen. This initiative aims to recapture the essence of a few unique elements in relation to the conclusion presented by the author Gege Akutami in the original manga.
However, the release of the first chapter of this project has sparked significant controversy, particularly regarding its somewhat pessimistic undertones.

The critiques regarding Akutami’s ending include the death of Satoru Gojo, which is considered inadequate, lacking in development, and the neglect of certain character aspects. To address this, a fan group decided to document their perspective on the story within the manga specifically for this audience. The manga explores the events following Gojo’s defeat at the hands of Ryomen Sukuna and his experiences in the other world alongside Suguru Geto.

Despite the initial enthusiasm, the first chapter of this project has been sharply criticized. Some only highlight various issues such as the weak characterizations of key figures like Suguru Geto and Satoru Gojo. Or the introduction of a new ability for Sukuna (with many suggesting that Akutami has made the King of Curses too powerful) and the somewhat hollow portrayal of the unique essence of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Additionally, there have emerged broader accusations that Jujutsu No Kaisen was created using artificial intelligence, although this has yet to be confirmed.
One point of contention is the timing of the manga’s release for this fanbase, which coincided with Akutami’s revelation in the latest volume of “Jujutsu Kaisen” that he has been facing serious mental health issues while working on this series. Despite the fact that projects like this do not aim to directly infringe upon the author, many fans feel that this initiative lacks respect for the creator’s work and personal circumstances.

It is important to note that this is not the first time a fandom has executed such measures. Similar projects have emerged in communities surrounding series like “Attack on Titan” and “KonoSuba.” However, in the case of “Jujutsu No Kaisen,” many believe it cannot effectively alter or resolve the critiques regarding its original ending.
Despite the division it has created within the community, fans retain the freedom to interpret the story as they wish. Nevertheless, it is crucial to emphasize that this project does not change or replace the original manga and may continue to be a topic of debate in the coming days.
