Previously, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) disappointed audiences by depicting Galactus as a giant cloud and only showing him briefly. However, this time, Marvel Studios has decided to stay true to the source material by presenting Galactus in a more authentic form, created through a combination of practical effects and cutting-edge CGI.
The latest trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps delves deeper into the family dynamics, which have been closely tied to the superhero team’s journey over the decades. In addition to the four main members—Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm—the trailer also teases the presence of the Richards family’s young son, Franklin Richards.
Alongside exciting new details, the trailer hints at Galactus seeking victory in this epic battle, which is shaping up to be more intense than ever. The Fantastic Four will have to retreat to an alternate timeline until they can face Galactus in Earth-616, the main reality of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), directly connecting to the post-credit scene of Thunderbolts.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps will feature Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, Julia Garner as Silver Surfer, and Ralph Ineson as Galactus.
This film is set to officially release on July 25 of this year.
