First Stand Tournament Sparks Controversy Among the League of Legends Community
Recently, the international tournament First Stand 2025 officially kicked off, igniting debates within the League of Legends (LoL) community. The tournament features teams that were expected to perform well, although many were surprised by their initial results. However, one distinguishing element has left players feeling frustrated: the new HUD interface implemented by Riot for this tournament.

According to numerous viewer opinions, the new HUD interface is quite cluttered, lacking important details such as the number of champions, KDA (Kill/Death/Assist) ratios, and more, which have all been minimized to the point that it becomes challenging for viewers to follow the statistics of the teams. Additionally, the persistent display of the gold difference between the two teams further complicates the interface, making it difficult for viewers to focus on the essential gameplay elements.

This sentiment was echoed by various Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the LoL community, such as Caedrel and LS. They noted that the new HUD has made it difficult for them to maintain a proper camera angle during co-streaming, resulting in a suboptimal viewing experience for their audiences.
Despite these criticisms, some viewers argue that the new HUD offers a more spacious frame and enables better tracking of in-game activities by the teams. However, it appears that the adjustments have yet to fully resonate with the audience, as many are still struggling to adapt to the changes.

League of Legends Community Expects Riot to Refine the New HUD for Future Tournaments
A crucial point is that Riot needs to enhance the new HUD to optimize its effectiveness and ensure it is broadly applicable across different tournaments. After all, it would be meaningless for viewers to familiarize themselves with the new HUD for the First Stand, only to revert to the usual interface for other standard tournaments, including MSI and the World Championship later this year.
