GAM Superstar Receives Criticism After Defeat Against G2
As expected, the Vietnamese League of Legends community is abuzz after GAM faced a tough exit from the MSI 2025. Despite the challenging circumstances (facing both BLG and G2 in the BO5 at the Play-In stage), the current performance of GAM has not met the expectations of fans. Following their loss, the team’s standout player, Kiaya, has also come under scrutiny.

Kiaya shared, “In Game 5, after we established some control, I felt I led us forward and made some critical mistakes. Overall, the team’s composition faced many challenges, making the match not go as expected for both the team and myself. I currently regret my mistakes, not just in Game 5 but in many moments throughout this season. This experience will prepare me better for future competitions.”

It’s Hard to Solely Blame GAM for Their MSI Journey This Year
As with any loss, the defeat will be scrutinized, but the reality is GAM made it to MSI and pushed G2 to a Game 5, which is a significant achievement. Besides the tough opponents they faced (like G2 in Game 3), the team also displayed solid resilience. However, facing a “heavyweight” like G2 often results in tough matches at international events, making a victory in a BO5 appear less likely. Discrepancies in performance and misplays were evident, similar to many teams from leagues like LEC or LCS.

The GAM team has also faced challenges throughout the season and must frequently change their roster. The lack of consistency, coupled with recurring issues, has made it tough for them. The community is understandably disappointed as GAM could have performed better in some situations, but this season has been a learning experience for them.
