GAM Achieves “Disappointing Milestone” on MSI 2025 Launch Day
On the morning of June 28 (Vietnam time), GAM faced off against Bilibili Gaming – the representative from LPL and a strong contender in the tournament, on the opening day of MSI 2025. With such a significant skill disparity, the VCS audience had little hope for GAM to create an upset. However, if they could secure even a single win against their Chinese opponents, it would be considered a success. Unfortunately, the match concluded swiftly after just three rounds, with GAM suffering a “disappointing milestone”: a total of 13 consecutive defeats after three matches.

In all three rounds, even when GAM had a slight advantage over their opponents, they were completely dominated by BLG, who controlled all 12 Dragon buffs. Furthermore, in game 2, BLG even managed to secure an additional Elder Dragon buff.
This also marks the first time in MSI history since its inception in 2015 that a team has experienced 12 consecutive Dragon buffs lost in a single best-of-five (BO5) series. Moreover, even in best-of-three (BO3) matches, there have never been instances of such a severe control disadvantage. GAM’s own jungler, Levi, has previously showcased impressive highlight moments in matches against their opponents.

Loss Could Affect GAM’s Performance in MSI 2025
Levi, Kiaya, as well as Emo, Artemis, and Elio have all previously experienced international matches. However, the defeat against BLG was a different scenario as it revealed GAM’s complete lack of stability. Therefore, it is understandable that VCS fans are concerned about GAM’s ability to recover after this loss. If FUR performs as they did in their match against G2 recently, GAM is likely to face many significant challenges ahead.

However, regardless of the outcome, GAM is strongest when they are playing in the “home arena.” The VCS representative is no longer a dark horse and must secure victories to continue their journey in Vancouver for MSI and prepare for the 2025 EWC right after.
