As of 2025, Epic Games Store has repeatedly impressed players with its generous offerings. Recently, titles such as Garden Story and World War Z: Aftermath have been featured, alongside last week’s release of Mages of Mystralia, a magical battle adventure game.
The latest free game, confirmed to be available on March 6, is Them’s Fightin’ Herds – a charming 2D battle game featuring adorable animal characters.
Developed by Mane6, Them’s Fightin’ Herds introduces players to a vibrant world filled with whimsical characters. Initially released in early access in February 2018, the game received widespread acclaim, boasting a high average rating of 81 on OpenCritic and a user score of 79%. The game has garnered praise for its accessibility, diverse gameplay, and well-balanced character roster, despite some minor criticisms.
On Steam, the game is priced at nearly 200,000 VND and has received a solid response from users, achieving positive ratings of 3.6 and 4.39 stars on Xbox and PlayStation Stores, respectively. However, the portion of players on the Epic Games Store remains rather lukewarm regarding this offering, with some even suggesting that this week’s release “feels like a non-event.” The reason behind this sentiment may be attributed to the fact that many users have already owned the game, especially since it was previously offered as part of the Mystery Game program in 2022. Although the giveaway only lasted for 24 hours, it still attracted a considerable number of players who claimed Them’s Fightin’ Herds.
