GAM Loses Due to Reasons of “Unforgivable Mistakes”
Nothing unexpected occurred during the match between GAM Esports and TALON in the LCP 2025 tournament. The representative from VCS suffered a defeat of 1-2 against a strong opponent from the PCS region. However, the disappointing aspect was that GAM had the opportunity to triumph over TLN if the players in the yellow and black jerseys had not made unforgivable mistakes that affected the overall performance.

First and foremost, the performance of the players needs to be addressed. On a day when facing a formidable opponent like TLN, almost all positions of GAM made mistakes. Among them, Levi and Elio were highlighted by many fans as the main reasons behind the defeat of the VCS representative.

In addition to the unexpected pick of Mel by TLN that left GAM bewildered, it was clear that the VCS representative has not yet reached a standard form to face the enemy’s “perilous” strategies. In all three games, GAM only managed to win the second game, where all five players held power picks but still fell short due to critical misplays.
With the Fearless Draft strategy, focusing only on a few picks means that opponents only need to analyze and pressure them into uncomfortable situations to execute their strategies effectively. The execution of this strategy proved to be extremely difficult.

During the decisive match against TLN, GAM once again utilized the unorthodox pick of Jax. This was a familiar pick for the duo Levi – Kiaya, but they failed to create any effective combos to quickly shut down any of TLN’s champions (Mel, Udyr, Xin Zhao, Corki, Renata).
Udyr served as the champion that could withstand the immense pressure of Jax, while Mel was the main component in initiating critical plays for the team. Currently, the Jax – Ngọc Không duo does not possess a very high win rate. In fact, Levi’s use of Jax resulted in a defeat, and Kiaya managed to win only 2 out of 4 games played with the champion.

The Journey of GAM Remains Full of Challenges
With a record of 6 out of 8 matches, it is almost impossible for GAM to avoid relegation from the tournament after the group stage. However, if GAM continues to perform like this, the chance of securing a higher position is extremely slim. Once in the knockout stage, there won’t be any teams remaining that will consider GAM a “soft target” any longer.
Moreover, GAM still carries the highest expectations from the VCS audience. The current performance is nearly guaranteed to not meet the expectations. GAM will need to rally much more effort, as the disappointment from the fans will be one of the greatest challenges if they continue to underperform as they have in recent times.
