GAM Esports Admits Mistakes After Heavy Loss at LCP 2025
Recently, GAM Esports, the reigning champion of the VCS, faced a disappointing defeat in the LCP 2025, marking their second consecutive loss in this prestigious APAC tournament. This outcome was unexpected, especially considering that many VCS fans were optimistic that GAM would clinch the championship title for LCP 2025. This belief was bolstered by the fact that long-standing VCS rivals have shown signs of weakness, particularly TALON.

However, the losses have revealed a different narrative. Following a swift defeat to CBTC Flying Oyster, GAM’s star player Aress acknowledged that the team made a crucial mistake during the decisive match.
Aress stated: “In game 3, GAM did have a solid draft, especially when the CFO first picked Miss Fortune. The synergy should have been Rakan – Xayah. Yet, after discussions, we ended up choosing Xayah – Rakan and allowed the enemy team to secure Rakan.”

VCS Community Comments on GAM’s “Bitter” Performance
Indeed, it doesn’t require a professional player to see the glaring mistakes in GAM’s draft decisions during the crucial match. The CFO was completely outplayed. Additionally, both Aress and Kiaya had to utilize their respective champions, which led to GAM losing two valuable sources of pressure.
It should be noted that Levi had a strong showing with Kindred, alongside Artemis, but Levi’s Kindred did not deliver the expected impact, leading to GAM’s downfall. Kiaya’s Udyr failed to provide the necessary crowd control, while Galio often found himself quickly overwhelmed in skirmishes.

Despite the setbacks, GAM has completed the first phase of LCP 2025. They will have ample time to regroup during the Lunar New Year break, as well as prepare for the remaining matches, where they must perform better and show a more cohesive strategy if they wish to continue their journey in this international tournament.
