Genshin Impact’s Version 5.0 is Coming to an End
As we know, Genshin Impact is about to conclude its Version 5.0. In the second phase of Version 5.6, rumors suggest that there will definitely be no new characters from Natlan introduced. This also confirms that the Hydro Archon will not have any playable characters – a scenario we have never seen in the past in the Archon series.
It sounds very unlikely, but in reality, all Archons from the five nations have previously had unique playable characters, or to put it another way, “supporting arms” must be distinct. With Anemo Archon Venti, we have Jean; Geo Archon Zhongli has Ningguang; Electro Archon has Yae Miko/Kujou Sara; Dendro Archon has Alhaitham; and Hydro Archon has Neuvillette/Clorinde. However, only the Hydro Archon today remains unique, with no one to assist.
Is Genshin Impact Still “Hiding”?
Although prominent leakers have confirmed that there will be no new characters in Version 5.0, the truth is there may still be a possibility of a “support” character for the Hydro Archon appearing in the future. In essence, miHoYo could entirely expand the story with many new elements from Natlan, introducing a completely new name in Version 6.0.
However, some opinions suggest that the Hydro Archon’s uniqueness is simply miHoYo’s strategy. Additionally, the current Traveler character has been the most unique supporting character for the Hydro Archon in the present timeline. This explains why in Liyue, there are only two characters related to the Hydro Archon: Mavuika and the Traveler.
Overall, Natlan has not yet emerged as a “right-hand” for the Hydro Archon, indicating that there hasn’t been much progress, which has left many fans disappointed. However, in Teyvat, anything can happen. The Hydro Archon today may just be the starting point for a spiraling narrative in the storyline, or it could be a “test run” for those who are always craving a new meta.
