Is Genshin Impact Adding Another Boring Banner?
As we know, Genshin Impact has transitioned to version 5.4, and recently, miHoYo has revealed the details of the second wave of banners in this version. It’s safe to say that version 5.4 is quite a “boring” update, as there are no “must-have” characters that would entice players to spend their hard-earned money.

Let’s analyze this situation a bit. As mentioned in the previous article, the first wave of version 5.4 featured one new 5-star Anemo character – Mizuki, along with a rerun of Sigewinne. However, both of these characters have not generated much hype, mainly because Mizuki is expected to be featured in future standard banners, while Sigewinne does not appear to be a standout character.

In the second wave, the banners are considerably less interesting. miHoYo has chosen to rerun two of the most beloved characters from version 4, namely Furina the Hydro Archon and Wriothesley the Cryo character. However, many players still prefer to save their resources instead of rolling like in the first wave. The reason is that Furina is a significant character that is likely to rerun multiple times in the future.

Furthermore, Wriothesley is not an outstanding DPS character. While the upcoming version 6.0 is approaching, it is likely to introduce new characters, so it’s certain that there will be many characters of the Cryo element released. This makes investing in a “temporary” Cryo DPS like Wriothesley quite a risky move, unless players have a strong preference for this character.
Golden Opportunity for Genshin Players to Save!
The best strategy for Genshin players right now is to “save” as much as possible. After all, once players pass this “boring” phase, miHoYo could surprise everyone with a plethora of new and exciting characters. Very soon, version 5.7 may introduce Skirk, while version 6.2 could bring new characters from the Fatui faction…

If the current banners aren’t appealing enough, it’s clear that Genshin Impact players won’t have “the urge” to spend on banners featuring lackluster characters.
