Genshin Impact Continues to Expand Globally, Bringing New Content and Challenges for Players
Specifically, PC gamers are increasingly concerned about the storage space required for the game, which has now surpassed the 150GB mark, raising difficulties for many in managing their storage effectively. Players have been calling on HoYoverse to implement a feature that has long existed in the mobile version.

Genshin Impact – The RPG from HoYoverse has a storage requirement exceeding 150GB on PC, causing significant challenges for players in managing their available space.
While the mobile version has allowed players to delete completed resources, the PC gaming community is still waiting for the implementation of a similar feature to help free up storage. Since the latest update 5.6, Genshin Impact has introduced two new characters: Escoffier – a renowned chef from Fontaine, and Ifa – a famous herbalist from Natlan. However, with the update cycle extending to about 42 days, the game continuously releases new content, characters, and events, leading to an ever-increasing storage requirement.

Recently, other games have introduced simplified solutions: allowing the deletion of completed resources, including cutscenes that only appear once and unused collectibles. Implementing such a feature could save at least 20GB of storage while also improving download speeds and overall gameplay experience. The Genshin PC community believes HoYoverse should fully deploy the “Resource Management” feature as seen in the mobile version, especially since the mobile version has been utilizing this functionality for a long time. Moreover, some players have suggested ways to reduce current storage usage, such as deleting unused language packs; however, this has limited effectiveness.

According to the update schedule, the Genshin Impact 6.0 version is expected to launch at the end of August, introducing a new region called Nod-Krai – a land located north of Mondstadt as described in the story’s lore. This area is anticipated to be the setting for several new characters that have been long-awaited, according to recent leaks. However, this new expansion also implies that the game’s storage requirements will continue to rise, making the demand for a resource management feature even more pressing.
