The Exciting Launch of the Natlan Region in Genshin Impact Version 5.0
As the highly anticipated Natlan region officially debuts in Genshin Impact’s 5.0 update, fans are eager to explore this new land that symbolizes the element of Fire. However, an unexpected detail has sparked vibrant discussions within the community: Natlan currently lacks any characters associated with the element of Fire. This has raised questions about the consistency of character representation in previous regions of the game.

From Mondstadt to Sumeru: Each Region’s Unique Archon and Character Representation
In Genshin Impact, each region features its own Archon and typically includes at least one significant character associated with that Archon. For instance, Mondstadt has Jean alongside Venti, Inazuma features Sara (or many believe Yae Miko), who assists Raiden Shogun, and Fontaine introduces the notable duo Furina and Neuvillette. Yet, in Natlan, while players are immersed in the fiery energy of the region, no Fire-related character has yet appeared, especially concerning the Archon of Natlan, Mavuika.

In the current 5.6 update, HoYoverse has introduced two new characters: the culinary master Escoffier and the mysterious Ifa. Despite their high ratings, neither of these characters is associated with the Fire element, leaving players to wait for more Fire characters to join the roster after the conclusion of the current update cycle. HoYoverse has confirmed that the upcoming 5.7 update will bring two new characters: Skirk (who is anxiously awaited by players) and Dahlia, a character from the starry realm.
This situation raises concerns about Natlan’s continued absence of any Fire-related representation, leading many fans to feel a sense of disappointment. There is speculation that a potential Fire version of the Traveler could fill this gap in the Natlan narrative. However, many believe this could complicate storytelling, as players are already accustomed to the Traveler’s versatile role in various scenarios.

As of now, there is no credible information indicating that a Fire character will appear in the near future. Speculations suggest that the Fire version of the Traveler may be a solution, but many fans are apprehensive about this approach due to the Traveler’s already established role as a versatile character across multiple storylines.
The upcoming 5.8 update is expected to mark the conclusion of the Natlan chapter before transitioning to a new region, with hopes that it will introduce a central Fire-related character. Many players express regret that the elemental representation of Natlan remains unexplored, at least up to the current point in time.
