With the recent release of Genshin Impact, the game has faced numerous comparisons and evaluations regarding its increasing difficulty. Many games have previously struggled with challenges that are significantly harder and more demanding of players.
However, the silence from miHoYo, the developer, seems to suggest a strategic approach with the new updates. As soon as there were indications that Genshin Impact was ramping up in difficulty, miHoYo swiftly became the first to be criticized.

Specifically, in the recent period, Genshin Impact has continually increased health points for the bosses in the 12th floor of the Spiral Abyss. In version 5.3, new buffs for this level have also been introduced.
According to reports, the games have only just released the health points in the Spiral Abyss, which has shown a trend of continuous increase since version 4.1, even reaching up to 6 million health points as seen in version 5.3. The start of this trend coincided with the introduction of Neuvillette – currently the strongest carry character in the game. To build, play, and not to overly rely on the support of the other team members, Neuvillette has compelled miHoYo to redesign the Spiral Abyss to suit the new power levels they have introduced.

More importantly, the buffs in the Spiral Abyss level 12 in the latest version are quite favorable for Arlecchino and Mavuika – characters that are expected to feature in upcoming banners. Therefore, the fact that these games are currently drawing significant criticism towards miHoYo for their “gacha” mechanics, which drain players’ resources, is understandable as they aim to surpass the Spiral Abyss with the highest achievements, forcing games to rely heavily on Neuvillette, and it’s possible that both Arlecchino and Mavuika might share the spotlight.

As soon as the difficulty level of Genshin Impact increased, miHoYo has been criticized quite harshly. However, it is easy to understand for this developer as releasing banners with new characters is still the quickest way to optimize their revenue.
