Entering Phase 2 of version 5.7, Genshin Impact continues to release “mysterious banners” that are captivating for players through the vibrant banner setup. Specifically, miHoYo will unveil the rerun banners for two 5-star characters, Mavuika and Emilie. Both names previously caused a stir upon their debut, yet currently, the decision of which to choose is a tricky puzzle.

Two “picky” choices for Genshin Impact players
Mavuika – the Fire God of Teyvat – is a formidable DPS with a very strong presence. She is particularly known for her ability to deal massive area damage with her signature skill, the Burning Flower. When the Burning Flower is fully charged, Mavuika can “explode” after a few combos. However, her main weakness lies in depending on the right team composition, as she only unleashes her full potential when paired with characters that support her Burning Flower.

On the other hand, Emilie is a support character focused on dealing damage from a distance, concentrating all efforts on the Burning formation. If players have supporting characters like Xiangling, Bennett, or Lyney, Emilie can significantly enhance the damage output. However, if the team composition is not appropriate, her damage potential tends to diminish, becoming nearly ineffective in high-level content.

Regarding their compatibility with players, both characters can function well with 4-star characters, but Mavuika offers several more build options. Meanwhile, Emilie requires players to invest in building her around the Dendro-Pyro team composition, which can complicate her gameplay experience.
Should you spend on this banner, or wait for 6.0?
This is a controversial banner, especially as it appears at the end of the cycle of version 5.0 – a period when most players are aware that version 6.0 is on the horizon, bringing a completely new area and new “powerful” characters that have yet to be introduced.

Investing in Mavuika will only be truly worthwhile if you are lacking a primary DPS and want to “immediately acquire” a powerful character to tackle challenging content like the Spiral Abyss. On the contrary, if your team composition is already solid, this may not be the best time to roll, as Mavuika might struggle to fit into a flexible team, while Emilie only synergizes with a few pre-built “Burning” teams.
In summary, the best choice at this moment might be to… skip. Keeping resources for the future will help players better adapt as new metas evolve, especially important is not to waste “primogems” if future banners turn out to be very enticing.
