In January 2025, Tencent Continues to Dominate the Global Mobile Game Market
As usual, the latest report from Sensor Tower has revealed the global mobile game rankings for January 2025. In this report, Honor of Kings continues to lead in generating impressive revenue. This title from Honor of Kings has maintained its “all-time high” status for an extended period, showcasing the strong appeal of the “king of games” in recent years.

Following closely are Royal Match and Last War: Survival in second and third places, respectively. The revenues of these two games have surpassed Roblox, a mobile game that once dominated globally, primarily due to their successful marketing strategies on various platforms. Throughout the past period, both Royal Match and Last War: Survival have continuously invested in effective promotional strategies. Notably, in 2024, the publisher Dream Games of Royal Match achieved a remarkable revenue milestone of $2 billion.

In terms of overall revenue growth, Tencent still holds a significant position. In January, this company accounted for 4 out of the top 10 fastest-growing game titles (3 in the leading positions).
“Free Fire” Remains a Strong Contender
Alongside revenue, the competition for user engagement remains incredibly fierce. Free Fire has excellently maintained its top position by consistently attracting players and regularly updating its content. Currently, it is also the most popular mobile Battle Royale game globally, outpacing PUBG Mobile despite its established presence, which has significantly decreased its momentum in the Vietnamese market.

Roblox closely follows in second place, with games like Block Blast! and Subway Surfers also making it into the top 5, indicating a strong global presence. A notable highlight in this list is the striking rise of Where Winds Meet, published by NetEase. This game has achieved significant acclaim in the global revenue growth rankings.

Upon its release in China, Where Winds Meet attracted significant attention due to its innovative gameplay and unique cultural value. Although it only debuted at the end of December 2024, the game’s features have left a profound impression on players.
