Gumayusi Reflects on a Tough Match Against HLE
On July 4th (Vietnam time), T1 will face off against HLE in the MSI 2025 quarter-finals, marking the team’s first appearance in this stage as representatives of the APAC region. Although they are ranked second in the LCK region, T1 has the potential to advance directly to the Playoffs instead of having to compete in the Play-In stage like G2 or BLG. Their recent victory against HLE has already helped T1 secure their spot as a top contender for the MSI championship this year. However, Gumayusi remains humble about his team’s performance.

According to Gumayusi, he admitted, “It seems that we have developed a ‘habit’ as T1. We may not perform well during the regular season, but we always show up strong in the playoffs. Therefore, I am quite confident (going into the match against HLE). However, I also understand that we cannot take a victory for granted with a score of 3-0 and a perfect performance like that. I believe that every match will prove to be better than I expect.”

Gumayusi and T1 Are in Great Spirits Heading into MSI 2025
At present, it’s safe to say that T1 is in a very good mental state and is ready for the MSI 2025 journey. Currently, with a relatively ‘easy’ opponent, it will be a perfect stepping stone for T1. Gumayusi has also managed to regain his rhythm after a period of being away and is now performing at his best, which is crucial for the team. He is currently among the highest-rated players in the entire roster of top teams participating in this year’s MSI.

Of course, during the matches, nothing can be taken for granted. However, the MSI championship is a title that the T1 organization has yet to achieve. Although Zeus is no longer part of the team, the remaining four members still have the opportunity and capability to overcome the challenges ahead this season, especially after they have faced numerous difficulties at the beginning of the season.
