Gumayusi Compared to Naruto: A Reflection on the Current State of T1
Currently, it can be said that the dramas surrounding T1 have become more intense, and this lineup has returned to its familiar style. Furthermore, if we consider the current period in the official timeline (DOFGK), T1 is believed to be experiencing even greater expectations than during the Summer Split of 2024. During the recent scrutiny of the drama surrounding Gumayusi, many fans have discovered that he shares many similarities with one of the most iconic characters in manga/anime history – Naruto.

Specifically, Gumayusi has previously made mistakes at critical moments, such as during the “trash talk” exchanges that often occur when T1 achieves significant milestones. Naruto himself also faced similar challenges during his journey, especially when he exhibited excessive confidence despite not having achieved much yet.
Additionally, Gumayusi has also faced negative comments regarding his role within the team, reminiscent of how Naruto was often ostracized for carrying the burden of being a Jinchuriki. In this case, Gumayusi may not be blamed entirely as T1 has faced backlash from certain anti-fan factions (which, according to many sources, are also fans of Faker) and the team has struggled to resolve these issues. Ultimately, both Gumayusi and Naruto have set ambitious goals to become leading figures in their respective teams.

Moreover, some Western fans noticed during MSI 2022 that G2 had a poster featuring the five members of T1 as the five Hokage, which made for an interesting comparison.

T1 and Gumayusi’s Current Journey Mirrors Naruto’s
For a long time, Naruto has regained the trust and affection of the Konoha villagers, especially after the battle against Pain. Gumayusi and T1 are currently showing signs of revival following a series of difficult challenges, and Gumayusi is proving to be a promising talent. However, T1’s goal remains set on MSI 2025 and Worlds 2025. If they can consistently reach high levels alongside T1, Gumayusi will not only strive to improve his personal performance but may also become a figure reminiscent of Naruto – one of the most significant characters in anime/manga history.
