Marvel’s cinematic universe has the potential to spawn numerous talented heroes, but its villains are relatively few. One of the most striking antagonists, who is also exceptionally handsome, has recently been depicted in an Instagram post. This image showcases Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as the envious Asgardian god.
The last time Loki made an appearance was in Thor: The Dark World, where he daringly “faked” Odin’s presence to ascend to the throne of Asgard. With his brother Thor often seen throughout the realm, only a few were aware of the ongoing events. However, we certainly hope he continues to captivate audiences for a long time to come.
Viewers may still be unaware of Loki’s mischievous plans in Thor: Ragnarok, beyond merely being a nuisance to Thor. The latest installment is set to introduce several new characters to the screen, allowing Loki to revel in his role.
If there is any aspect that the Marvel cinematic universe lacks, it would undoubtedly be the range of its villains. Most villains portrayed by Marvel tend to revolve around common tropes, making them somewhat forgettable. Marvel has certainly acknowledged that this is a recurring issue when developing superhero films, resulting in villains that fail to stand out prominently.
In the Thor films, while we witness and understand Loki’s motivations, he has generally been depicted as a remarkable character. It is not difficult to grasp why this divine being has been brought back into the fold in The Avengers.
Loki, aside from being a distant villain, also serves as comic relief for both Earth and Asgard. With Taika Waititi taking the helm as director, there are high hopes for this character to further showcase his humorous side, especially to make up for his brother.
Thor: Ragnarok has been garnering significant attention lately. The latest images from the film reveal the appearance of the Quinjet, which houses the Hulk and has previously been lost to the brothers in the closing scenes of Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Alongside Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Chris Hemsworth returns as Thor, and Mark Ruffalo’s Incredible Hulk will also make an appearance. The film will feature a variety of new characters in the Marvel cinematic universe, including fan favorites like Tessa Thompson, Jeff Goldblum, and Cate Blanchett. The film is set to hit theaters on November 3, 2017.
