Fans of Star Wars: The Force Awakens are still reeling from the incident involving actor Harrison Ford, who suffered an injury while filming the movie. The incident began in June 2014 during a shoot at Pinewood Studios in the UK when the 71-year-old actor was struck by a door of the Millennium Falcon spaceship, resulting in a broken leg and ankle.
Ford’s injury caused director J.J. Abrams to adjust the filming schedule for scenes featuring Harrison Ford, delaying the production by several months. Fortunately, the film was completed on time and was released in December 2015, becoming the highest-grossing film of all time in the North American market.
Currently, the case regarding Harrison Ford’s injury is causing quite a stir in the courtroom and is becoming increasingly complex.
According to information from The Guardian, the trial taking place in the UK has revealed that not one member of the film crew is exempt from the potential risks associated with the incident. Consequently, the involved party, Foodles Production, a subsidiary of Disney, has been accused of failing to ensure strict safety measures during the filming process.
As for actor Harrison Ford, the information indicates that he suffered injuries after being struck by the Millennium Falcon model. His survival is considered fortunate, as the door of the heavy model had fallen on him, resulting in serious injuries before the door hit Ford’s leg.
It is known that following this court ruling, the penalty for Foodles, a subsidiary of Disney, will be announced on August 22 of this year.
