The Legend of DOTA 2 Faces “Ban Hammer” After Returning to League of Legends
Recently, a rather intriguing image associated with Dendi—the legendary player from DOTA 2—has captured the attention of many gamers. Specifically, he faced a ban during a ranked match while streaming, forcing him to (temporarily) uninstall DOTA 2 and return to League of Legends. Previously, when the new game mode was introduced, Dendi had successfully experienced and climbed the rank in the new competitive environment. Seeing Dendi return to Riot’s game has sparked hopes among fans for a potential showdown between him and Faker, hoping to see both legends face off in ranked play.

However, when Dendi had not yet fully engaged with Faker or interacted with the community, the Natus Vincere star encountered the “ban hammer.” According to reports, just yesterday, Dendi’s account was suspended for 12 hours. The reason many viewers following his stream provided was that the DOTA 2 legend went AFK during a match without any prior notice. Apparently, he was linked to Riot’s “handling” of the situation.

Could the DOTA 2 legend also face issues in League of Legends nowadays?
Alongside the light-hearted jeering from the community, many League of Legends fans also expressed their disdain toward Riot’s handling of the situation, stating that “the game isn’t being properly monitored and the anti-toxicity measures are ineffective.” Indeed, numerous instances of game disruptions and toxicity are present, yet Riot seems to struggle with effective solutions. While some accounts are banned simply for not meeting the gameplay requirements, the developers are quick to impose sanctions on these players.

Regarding Dendi, it appears that he is not as familiar with the current rules of League of Legends, especially considering that this current roster has not played Riot’s game since… 2011. However, it seems that Dendi is merely “taking a break” through League of Legends before potentially returning to his original game. Currently, apart from playing casually, it seems that there is little benefit for him to participate in League of Legends as a professional player despite his legendary status in DOTA 2.
