Lotus Chat has been frequently compared to Telegram, one of the most popular messaging platforms today, in terms of interface and user experience.
However, at the recent event “Get Sync – Lotus for Work,” Mr. Nguyen The Tan, CEO of VCCorp and also the Director of the Lotus Chat project, clarified: “I do not deny the similarities in experience, but I must be clear: not everyone uses Telegram for work. Lotus was created specifically for work.”
According to Mr. Tan, the development team of Lotus Chat has referenced the open-source framework of Telegram for technical foundation, but has removed many features that are not suitable for the business environment. Simultaneously, it aims to build a system tailored for professional work, ensuring security and integrating bots and AI support.

“We chose an open-source framework, but eliminated unnecessary features for work. Features like public channels, stickers, and mini-games are removed as they do not meet business needs. Instead, Lotus Chat offers highly secure group chats, customizable permissions, better quality management, and is ready to integrate APIs and internal bots,” he added.
Unlike Telegram, which continues to develop towards a general community and public messaging service, Lotus Chat focuses on a professional teamwork environment, where information can be monitored more effectively. Groups can expand to thousands of users, and users can integrate their processes through API or custom bots.

Additionally, Lotus Chat is also testing a separate AI platform named “Biz AI Platform,” allowing businesses to train internal chatbots based on proprietary documents, assisting in customer inquiries, creating processes, and extracting knowledge without needing to rely on external servers.
Although not as popular as international messaging platforms, Lotus Chat is experiencing rapid growth in user numbers. On Android alone, the app has surpassed 300,000 downloads, with a noticeable increase in growth by the end of May. VCCorp aims to reach 2 to 3 million users, positioning Lotus Chat for a strong development phase in the near future.
