The Tragic Beginning of Nezuko Kamado
When Kibutsuji Muzan attacked the Kamado family on a fateful night, Nezuko was only 12 years old. She was the second oldest of the Kamado siblings, just one year younger than her brother Tanjiro. The transformation into a demon robbed her of her humanity, leaving her in a state of perpetual youth, as she remained 12 years old biologically throughout the story.
Life as a Demon
After becoming a demon and accompanying her brother Tanjiro, Nezuko spent two years in a dormant state while Tanjiro trained under Urokodaki to become a demon slayer. This means that, in the present timeline of the anime, she is technically 14 years old, although she physically appears to be stuck at the age of 12.
The Journey to Humanity
Eventually, Nezuko began to regain her human-like qualities when she played a pivotal role in the Infinity Castle arc. After being the first demon to be exposed to sunlight, she consumed a special medicine created by Tamayo, which allowed her to revert back to her human form. Following the final battle, Nezuko was able to live a normal life as a human once again.
