As the first film adaptation of a game that has captivated millions of fans over two decades, Warcraft: The Beginning (Warcraft: The Beginning of the Great War) kicks off with an epic confrontation between the Orcs and humans, represented by two main characters: Lothar and Durotan.
The Orcs’ invasion is primarily driven by the dire circumstances of their world facing extinction. Creating grand castles and structures is a complex task; however, the filmmakers aimed to create a vibrant landscape where the Orcs live, which presented a significant creative challenge.
The buildings, from the outside in, are high and intricately decorated, with the exterior ornamentation designed to appear visually distinct and representative of the different ranks within the Orc society. Additionally, the prison cells for the captured soldiers were designed with sharp edges, evoking a menacing atmosphere and creating a stark contrast with the softer features of the characters when portrayed on film.
With a budget exceeding 100 million USD, Warcraft: The Beginning aims to impress both general audiences and the loyal fans of this iconic game franchise with its stunning visuals, intricate special effects, and unique camera angles. After 123 days of filming, the movie was in post-production for 20 months, with director Duncan Jones focusing on achieving a high level of visual fidelity through over 1,000 complex shots.
Warcraft: The Beginning has been released in theaters across Vietnam.
