Hunter x Hunter has been on hiatus for more than a year, but this beloved manga is set to make a return soon.
Yesterday, the production team at Shueisha announced the return of the Hunter x Hunter manga in early October. This means that a new chapter will be released along with new episodes.

During a live broadcast on Jump Press, Shueisha confirmed that Hunter x Hunter will return in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, with new chapters starting on October 7 when Volume 45 is released.
It has not yet been disclosed how many new chapters will be included in the next update (as this is the first return of Togashi after the long hiatus, which only had ten chapters before the hiatus), but it has been confirmed that Hunter x Hunter will not return weekly; instead, it will follow a separate schedule. This was also mentioned by Shueisha prior to Hunter x Hunter’s last hiatus in 2022.
However, due to the time zone difference between Japan and the United States, it means that international readers may see the release a day earlier. Viz Media’s Shonen Jump will publish the new chapters on October 6 in the USA, so international readers might have the chance to enjoy their favorite manga sooner than expected.

Hunter x Hunter has also revealed the cover art for Volume 38 of the manga, set to be released on September 4, ahead of the manga’s return in the Shonen Jump magazine. This marks a significant turning point for the pages of Shonen Jump, as many long-running titles are concluding while some manga are eagerly anticipated to make a comeback.
Fans of Hunter x Hunter are very excited about this announcement. The last return of the beloved manga occurred at the end of 2022, extending into early 2023. Prior to that, Hunter x Hunter had also been on hiatus for nearly two years, and Yoshihiro Togashi’s work has experienced multiple interruptions over the years.
While the reasons for these long hiatuses have not been fully disclosed, it is known that Togashi faces serious health issues. The process of creating the manga has been extremely taxing for him, but that does not seem to hinder his creative spirit. When possible, Togashi hopes to work with his team to complete Hunter x Hunter, which is why fans are always eager for updates from the author.
