According to BBC, a 24-year-old suspect was arrested on October 4 and could face a sentence of up to 6 or 12 years. The identity of this individual has not yet been disclosed.
Mr. Mochamad Iriawan, the police chief of Jakarta, stated that the suspect was caught in the act of hacking an information control center at the workplace. Initially, he accepted responsibility for the incident.
During questioning by the police, the suspect claimed he was conducting a “hack” on the advertisement control center to stream adult films after noticing information being logged on the control center.

“He said he was doing this alone,” Mr. Iriawan told reporters. “However, we are still investigating whether he acted alone or if there are any accomplices involved.”
The police also indicated that the suspect would be prosecuted for disturbing public order during the screening of movies that contain inappropriate content.
On October 3, an adult film advertisement appeared on the billboard at a prime location in Jakarta. The person in the area was quite surprised when witnessing a couple in a video during the “rainy season.” A few minutes later, the billboard was abruptly shut off.
The advertising billboard is located very close to the Jakarta city hall. The police had interviewed 10 people involved, including 8 individuals from the advertising company and 2 witnesses.
The Indonesian government has imposed measures to prevent citizens from accessing adult websites. Many adult films or programs may be subject to censorship or modification by authorities.
