Whether winning or losing, both GAM and MVKE are currently facing a common challenge
In just two weeks, MVKE has had to compete in two matches of the “VCS derby” consecutively against two teams that are performing quite well in the Mid-Season 2025 stage, namely Team SecretWhales and GAM Esports. However, this recent victory over GAM could be said to help MVKE temporarily regain their spirit after a disappointing loss to TSW the previous week. Ultimately, regardless of winning or losing, both teams GAM and MVKE are acknowledging a significant issue that still exists in their lineup.

According to Dragon Knight Gury in the post-match analysis, he acknowledged that the loss in game 1 was due to a lack of coordination in the team: “In the first match, I felt a lack of communication. Therefore, we lost convincingly.” Meanwhile, in his response, Aress also acknowledged that communication was still a significant issue within GAM.

GAM’s coach stated: “If I had to find a primary reason for the defeat in this match, it could be attributed to the fact that the entire team did not effectively demonstrate good coordination, especially in communication. I think I will have to review the match extensively and draw lessons since the upcoming opponent is TALON, which is also a very strong team this year.”

Both GAM and MVKE still have many fundamental issues to improve
It cannot be denied that both teams are currently in a safe position in the LCP Mid-Season 2025 standings and are very close to playoff qualification. However, it is clear that the VCS audience is still not at ease. Both GAM and MVKE have been facing significant challenges this season. Notably, the “VCS kings” are still struggling to repeat their previous “achievements” this early in the year: recording losses against both VCS teams in head-to-head matches.

If both GAM and MVKE do not improve quickly, the likelihood of the VCS being eliminated at MSI 2025 could entirely happen, especially when CFO still sees TALON as a very challenging opponent.
