Is IP Gundam set to launch a new mobile game?
Recently, Bandai Namco announced the pre-registration for SD Gundam G Generation Eternal – a tactical simulation game on Android and iOS. This is the latest version of the SD Gundam G Generation series, first announced in May 2022.

However, on January 23rd, SD Gundam G Generation Eternal entered its beta test phase and concluded quickly after just 5 days. Notably, this game will feature over 500 Gundam units from 70 well-known works, including Mobile Suit Gundam, Gundam SEED, Gundam 00, and The Witch from Mercury. Players can build teams from their favorite characters, upgrade and develop Mobile Suits, while also participating in missions based on the main storyline.

As a turn-based strategy game, players will need to strategically arrange their combat teams to enhance their skills effectively. Notably, Bandai Namco has claimed that SD Gundam G Generation Eternal will not include any transactions to ensure game balance.
However, the new Gundam game may not be “accessible” for Vietnamese players
According to information from the App Store, SD Gundam G Generation Eternal is expected to launch on April 16, 2025. While this is good news for the global Gundam community, Vietnamese players may face challenges accessing the game. This is because the game will not have an official release in Vietnam. Consequently, Vietnamese players will have to find alternative ways to download the game through intermediaries or use foreign accounts to participate.

One controversial point is that Bandai Namco has decided to develop SD Gundam G Generation Eternal as a standalone title, preventing cross-play with other Gundam game series. This could limit the gaming experience, especially for those who enjoy combining different mobile suits from various universes.

Overall, with the quality and investment by Bandai Namco, SD Gundam G Generation Eternal remains a highly anticipated title for fans of Gundam and tactical simulation games.
