Currently, James Gunn and Peter Safran serve as co-chairmen and CEOs of DC Studios, a division dedicated to the production of film and television projects based on the intellectual property of DC Comics.
Immediately following their appointment, the executive team quickly began working on reestablishing the entire DC universe. Recently, James Gunn took some time in his announcement video to discuss several DC projects that are set to debut this year. One of the notable titles is The Flash, featuring the return of Ezra Miller.
Indeed, James Gunn has shared opinions regarding the latest film that will contribute to this new era of DC cinema.
1. James Gunn Calls The Flash One of the Best Superhero Films

James Gunn, in his capacity as co-chairman of DC Studios, has provided insights about the next upcoming project from DC Studios. He remarked that the film, The Flash, is set to be released in 2023.

Currently, DC Studios is heading in a new direction with James Gunn and Peter Safran at the helm. Due to the changes in leadership, The Flash will serve as a pivotal point, potentially acting as a “reset” that reestablishes events from previous films.
James Gunn has confirmed that The Flash will redefine the position of DC in a new cinematic landscape.
3. Regarding Ezra Miller, Peter Safran is Fully Supportive
