“It’s not surprising. If he wrote Demon Slayer, Tanjiro would also die along with his family when he sees Muzan,” commented a Twitter user.
Another user added: “For me, there is a point. There are many people who argue about the character’s portrayal. With Gege Akutami, I’m even less surprised, as Muzan and all of his minions have almost wiped out all characters.”
However, Akutami’s choices have also raised concerns among some fans. Many expressed worries that Sukuna might resemble Muzan. Although the demon king plays a significant role as an antagonist in Demon Slayer, he is not necessarily the best-written character outside of that context.
A fan commented: “Muzan’s character design is quite good, but I feel his character is not very well-written. Moreover, he is a type of villain that is quite detestable.”
The question of whether Sukuna and Muzan belong to the same type of character or not continues to spark debate. However, Akutami’s preferences clearly show that he pays the most attention to these villainous characters.
