The manga series Jujutsu Kaisen follows the story of Yuji Itadori, a young man whose life takes a dramatic turn after he consumes a cursed object. After becoming the host for a powerful cursed spirit from history, Yuji enrolls in a Jujutsu Technical School to learn more about curses and collect the remaining fingers of Ryomen Sukuna.
The plot takes a significant twist following the Shibuya Incident arc, where many characters have died up to this point. The manga is currently in its final stages, as creator Gege Akutami has confirmed that the Shinjuku Showdown will be the last arc of the series.

At the Jujutsu Kaisen exhibition held at Shibuya Hakarie, Gege Akutami answered several questions from fans. One of the questions was: “Why did Mei Mei escape from Shibuya, and what happened with her when she was there?”
Gege responded: “I don’t think a character should die if they don’t evoke any emotional response from the audience.”
Mei Mei had a brief battle with Kenjaku before she went to Malaysia with Ui Ui. However, the fight in Shibuya continued to unfold as the manga lost prominent characters like Nanami and Nobara.

A fan expressed: “Gege has confirmed that he takes inspiration from characters that make us feel pain; this person is even more evil than Sukuna.”
“Gege is someone who believes in building characters that resonate with the audience. It’s one of the narrative styles I appreciate the most. It’s like creating a world that makes you feel something deep inside.”, shared another fan.
Another fan noted: “I predict that Hakari will continue to battle Uraume until Gege allows Uraume to share a sad story about a difficult time living on the mountain, where he had to fend off guests to survive, but then ultimately encountered Sukuna.”
