“Faker’s Shadow” Uzi Immediately Faces Comparison to Another Legend
Recently, Riot confirmed that Uzi has officially been recognized as the next player to join the Hall of Legends after Faker, becoming the second professional League of Legends player to receive this special skin line. According to information available on Riot’s official website, Uzi will choose skins for two champions: Vayne and Kai’Sa. Notably, Kai’Sa will be the counterpart to Faker’s Ahri skin.

However, this inevitably opens the floor for debates surrounding the Hall of Legends skin line. In fact, only Faker’s skins have not sparked controversies. In Uzi’s case, right after the announcement of his contribution to the Hall of Legends, LPL viewers began comparing Uzi with another legendary player, JackeyLove. A significant point raised is that Uzi and JackeyLove have strikingly similar accolades, with Uzi yet to secure a World Championship title, unlike JackeyLove.

– Everyone wants to achieve what Uzi did while playing AD Carry, which means being recognized as a top-tier player. However, if you have been recognized multiple times and still fail to secure a win, should you still be in the Hall of Legends?
– Uzi has twice participated in the World Championship with his team.
– Competing against Uzi means facing four other players who do not have the same “luck” as him, such as Mlxg, Letme, Xiaohu, Ming…
Furthermore, Uzi’s professional career has been quite short. Since 2019, he has almost not competed in any professional League of Legends matches. When he decided to return to BLG in 2023, he did not help the team achieve any notable successes, despite being part of a newly formed “revival” roster.

Who Else Will Stir Controversy in the Hall of Legends, Apart from Faker?
Nonetheless, when Riot makes a decision, it will not be altered. Apart from Faker, it’s hard to predict if any other names will cause controversy when they are inducted into the Hall of Legends. With only one new addition each year, many deserving names may be overlooked. Nonetheless, this is Riot’s policy, and it is unlikely that the publisher will change their decision-making process.
