Kiaya Discusses Azir Selection and VCS Teams
In the recent “VCS” match against Team SecretWhales, GAM Esports made a bold choice in game 3 by selecting Azir for Aress. It can be said that Azir is a champion capable of making strong plays, suitable for various meta types but quite challenging to utilize effectively. Even LCK teams rarely field more than five players deemed proficient with Azir. However, the outcome of the opening match demonstrated that Aress was unable to execute a significant Shurima Shuffle in two crucial team fight scenarios. Nevertheless, Kiaya offered some optimistic insights regarding this choice.

According to him, during the post-match interview, GAM’s mid laner Duong Trên remarked that Azir could be considered GAM’s “hidden weapon” and will be used in crucial matches. However, GAM has yet to fully realize Azir’s potential and has been somewhat unlucky. Additionally, Duong Trên of GAM confirmed that they will continue to utilize Azir in the decisive match against TALON on June 7.
Moreover, Kiaya also expressed his thoughts: “VCS teams are not inferior to CFO or TALON, but they tend to be mentally affected when competing against teams from PCS. This situation needs to be addressed, and teams must find new strategies if they wish to progress further.”

GAM Carries the Hopes of VCS Once Again
Currently, GAM once again carries the hopes of the entire VCS for a successful MSI 2025 run. However, given their performance in the early stages leading up to the Mid-Season event, many VCS fans do not feel particularly optimistic, especially when TALON and CFO have proven to be quite strong while GAM struggles to keep up.

The match on June 7 will be pivotal, and one of the key factors will be the future of VCS at MSI 2025. If they fail to perform well in this tournament, it will be a significant setback for League of Legends in Vietnam. However, considering the current situation, a complete collapse could very well happen.
