A Mobile Game Achieves Outstanding Revenue Growth of Over 400%
On February 7, 2025, Sensor Tower released a report detailing the revenue of Chinese mobile game publishers for January 2025. According to the report, 34 Chinese companies made it onto the list of the top 100 mobile game publishers worldwide, generating a total revenue of $2.33 billion, which accounted for 39.2% of the total revenue of the entire top 100.

Among these, Tencent continued to dominate the mobile gaming sector, with a revenue increase of 62%, solidifying its position as the publisher with the highest revenue globally. Contributing to Tencent’s success were titles like Honor of Kings, PUBG Mobile, and various other popular game franchises. Notably, the standout performer was Cross Fire (Mobile Strike) with revenue soaring by 421% in just one month. This marks a significant growth milestone, helping the game achieve its highest revenue since its launch nine years ago.

Along with Mobile Strike, Tencent Dominates the Entire Chinese Gaming Market
The reason behind the exceptional revenue growth of Mobile Strike can be attributed to Tencent’s recent launch of a new version of the game titled “Baiwen Fengshenlu.” This version made a significant impact by introducing the new God Fengshenlu, along with a development system featuring powerful bosses like Yan Snake, enhancing the gaming experience for players.

With the success of Mobile Strike, Tencent has once again dominated the entire Chinese gaming market. According to Sensor Tower statistics, the top five highest-grossing games on the Chinese App Store are all published by Tencent, including: Honor of Kings, PUBG Mobile, Mobile Strike, Dungeon & Fighter: Origins, and Martial Universe: Chân Lý Mobile.
Overall, January 2025 marked a resurgence in the Chinese mobile gaming market, driven by the Lunar New Year events and significant updates. Tencent remains the leading publisher, followed closely by NetEase and miHoYo, which continue to maintain strong positions with their key titles.
