LCP 2025 Kickoff Successfully Launched with Significant Issues
On January 17th (Vietnam time), the first matches of the LCP 2025 officially kicked off, featuring 2 out of 3 representatives from VCS: MGNVikings Esports and GAM Esports. Although the results were contrasting, the teams showcased impressive performances that marked a significant start. Should MVKE perform better, they might have hit the right notes.

However, LCP 2025 faced serious issues during its opening stage, especially in the matches between MVKE and GAM, which led to delays. Notably, after two matches that stretched to 3 games, it was a late night, leaving the audience and hosts feeling quite drained.
Even the substitute teams experienced significant delays during the matches, which were prolonged for quite some time. Many fans compared the quality of LCP 2025 during its opening day to that of VCS, suggesting that it was not significantly better.

VCS Fans Compare LCP 2025 with Major International Tournaments
On various League of Legends platforms in Vietnam, many VCS fans have been comparing the quality of LCP 2025 with that of major international tournaments. This stems from the fact that many matches in 2023 – 2024 have experienced continuous delays. Some matches even stretched from evening until midnight, causing everyone to feel exhausted.
“It can’t be denied that LCP 2025 also faces similar issues as VCS, including delays,” a viewer commented. Another fan stated, “Tournaments like MSI, Worlds, or LCK, LPL also experience delays. However, at least they try to minimize these issues. Both matches today were delayed.”

Nonetheless, it may be attributed to the initial organization of LCP 2025 and the fact that it is the first event in the professional League of Legends scene, where many factors have yet to be fully realized. Fans may have to wait for Riot and the LCP organizing committee to improve these aspects over time.
