In the Vietnamese entertainment industry, the family of Ly Hai and Minh Ha always captivates the audience with their happy, private life devoid of drama. Notably, they continuously support and accompany each other in every project, much like a team in a game.
Ly Hai’s children are also quite talented, often seen taking part in film projects, particularly the Lat Mat series. In Lat Mat 6: Tam Ve Dinh Menh, the two little girls Cherry (Hai My) and Sunny (Tuyet Minh) had significant roles, showcasing their vibrant personalities and undeniable talent.
As part of a close-knit family, their father is a well-known actor and director, while their mother works in film production. Ly Hai’s children seem to have inherited their artistic flair from a young age. The eldest son, Rio, previously appeared in Lat Mat (2015) and Lat Mat 2: Phim Truong (2016), and the youngest, Mio (Phi Phong), made a cameo appearance in Lat Mat 4: Nha Co Khach (2019).
Like their older brother and younger sister, Cherry appeared in Lat Mat 4: Nha Co Khach, and this time, she joins the cast of Lat Mat 6: Tam Ve Dinh Menh.
However, the little girl had to convince her mother to let Sunny join in Lat Mat 6. Both girls took on the roles of ticket sellers appearing in a scene with their close-knit group of friends including Trung Dung, Quoc Cuong, Huy Khanh, Thanh Thuc, Kim Hai, and Huynh Thi.
Despite their minor roles, both girls had to audition just like other actors, without any preferential treatment because they are part of the family. The little girl had to perform an emotional scene of crying when she heard the news that her mother had an accident, which ultimately led to Ly Hai giving her the role.
In a conversation regarding this news, Ly Hai shared: “On set, both Sunny and Cherry were very serious and prepared thoroughly, even when they had to get a bit messy with makeup, wearing clothes that were a bit too big for them.“
Their performance may be brief, but their appearances leave a significant impression. When they first went to buy tickets, Sunny cried a lot. Ly Hai noted that the little girl was so emotional that she couldn’t hold back her tears during the scene, and they managed to finish filming in just one take.
Ly Hai further added: “Father is an actor, mother is a producer, and children sell tickets for experiences.“
