New Version of Wuthering Waves Makes Players “Restless”
Recently, the game Wuthering Waves has released version 2.1, allowing players to download the original files on both PC and mobile. However, it’s worth noting that despite being just a version update, the storage requirements have significantly increased.

Specifically, for the PC version, version 2.1 requires a minimum of 44GB of storage, nearly matching the current storage capacity of the game. According to recommendations from Kuro Games, players’ computers should have at least 60GB of free space. For the mobile version, the latest update demands up to 25GB, a surprisingly high amount that will definitely catch players off guard.

Overview of the Super-Heavy Version of Wuthering Waves
In fact, version 2.1 is not a major update with tons of new content. However, the reason for this hefty size is due to the pre-download feature of Wuthering Waves, which operates differently from other games. Instead of just downloading incremental updates to patch into the current game, the pre-download system of Wuthering Waves downloads the entire game as a complete new version.

When the official game version launches, the system will automatically replace the previously downloaded files with the new complete version. Ultimately, from the initial 44GB, the game’s storage requirement will only increase by about 4-5GB. This situation has been arising since the early updates; however, day by day, the game’s storage continues to grow, making many players unable to avoid the anxiety of future updates.

This approach also has many advantages and disadvantages. On one hand, downloading a completely new version of the game helps reduce the risk of errors during updates, improves performance, and optimizes the overall gaming experience. However, its main downside is the significant storage requirement for devices. For lower-end devices, having such large storage becomes a challenging problem for users.
