Pham Dao is a prominent male figure within the Volam sect and is one of the two key leaders of the Minh Giao organization, alongside Quang Minh, who serves in the Dương Tiêu branch. After the death of head teacher Dương Đình Thiên, Pham Dao was deeply concerned about the underlying causes of his demise and the internal threats facing Minh Giao. Through his investigations, he discovered a secret plot orchestrated by Thanh Côn, who was covertly working for the Nguyễn dynasty with the aim of undermining Minh Giao. However, during this process, Pham Dao had a narrow escape from an assassination attempt by Thanh Côn, which made him acutely aware of the looming dangers.
To avoid being recognized by Thanh Côn, Pham Dao made a bold decision to disguise himself, altering his appearance significantly to prevent detection. He meticulously crafted a new identity, complete with a changed hairstyle and even adopting a different voice. From a well-known figure, Pham Dao transformed into an inconspicuous individual, effectively eluding recognition by his peers in Minh Giao. Many of his close disciples believed he had died long ago.

With a new disguise, Pham Dao ventured into Hoa Thích Tự Mô, posing as a local civilian and adopting the name Khô Đầu Đà. Notably, during the critical Lục đại môn event, which was besieged by Triều Mận, Pham Dao was the one who boldly devised a strategy to capture the elusive Huyền Minh, subsequently using his own skills to break through the siege.
If it weren’t for Pham Dao’s intelligence, quick thinking, and absolute loyalty, even a high-ranking leader like Trưởng Võ Kỳ might not have been able to navigate the treacherous waters of the Volam sect’s struggles.
