One Piece live-action series on Netflix is currently generating buzz as it moves forward with Season 2. Fans recently got a sneak peek of the character Tony Tony Chopper in a quick reveal during the birthday celebration of Monkey D. Luffy.
Netflix has been relatively tight-lipped regarding Tony Tony Chopper, a beloved member of the Straw Hat crew, who is set to make a highly anticipated live-action appearance in the second season. However, they have remained quite secretive about revealing the “character design” of Chopper. Just recently, during a special event celebrating Monkey D. Luffy’s birthday, a new image surfaced showcasing Chopper in a way that fans could not ignore.
Netflix Teases Chopper’s Appearance in One Piece Live-Action Season 2

The latest image of Chopper reveals a notably large reindeer form, differing greatly from what many anime and manga fans might expect. This raises speculation about the actual size of Chopper in the live-action adaptation, which could be significantly larger than what viewers anticipated. It remains unclear whether this image is the final character design for Chopper in the series or merely a stand-in (Chopper stand) for the actors to interact with as they prepare for the visual effects to be added later.
The star portraying Roronoa Zoro, Mackenyu, recently hinted in an interview about collaborating with Chopper in the new season: “I’m trying not to spoil anything, but there will be many new characters introduced. Oda-sensei has informed us that we will be ready by the time Chopper makes his debut.” Regarding Chopper, Mackenyu excitedly shared: “And I met Chopper! That character is adorable! Oh man, I’m a huge fan of Chopper. So, just being able to appear alongside that character is a dream come true. It’s a special moment to bring home.”
Tony Tony Chopper: A Significant Addition to the Straw Hat Crew

Netflix’s One Piece has also announced that they will be sharing more updates for the second season during the upcoming TUDUM event, taking place on May 31. The new image featuring Chopper shows the character’s design in the live-action film. This is a critical element to ensure accuracy, as when the character was first introduced in the Drum Island arc of Eiichiro Oda’s manga, Chopper became an indispensable part of the subsequent story arcs.
Chopper is the next official member to join the Straw Hat crew as Luffy seeks out unique individuals for his adventures on the high seas. Following the events on Drum Island, Chopper will play a significant role in the future of the Straw Hat crew. This is why Netflix’s One Piece may take some time to introduce the character properly. If they misstep in portraying Chopper, it will be very difficult to regain the trust of the fanbase.
