The Anticipated Sequel to Monster Hunter World and Rise – The Two Best-Selling Titles from Capcom, Monster Hunter Wilds, is Here with a Controversial Launch.
Not everything related to this blockbuster launch is perfect. As has been speculated since the beta testing and pre-release reviews, the game is currently facing some challenges that are causing quite a stir among gamers.

However, the success of this title is undeniable. During its initial release window, Monster Hunter Wilds reached a peak of 987,482 concurrent players on Steam – nearly hitting the one million mark.
Although this number saw a slight dip shortly after launch, it quickly rebounded, surging to over 1.3 million concurrent players at its peak. This is certainly a number that Capcom has eagerly anticipated, while also raising questions about the levels of engagement that Monster Hunter Wilds can maintain.

Nonetheless, the controversy surrounding it continues. Currently, its rating on Steam reflects a stark 45% positive feedback from users. Most negative reviews are focused on the game’s performance and frame rate issues, with some gamers feeling that the game is unplayable in certain scenarios. Additionally, many have pointed out that the game’s menu system is overly complicated when trying to add friends in-game, and the monsters are described as being “too easy,” diminishing the sense of challenge in early gameplay sessions.

However, it is essential to note that the number of reviews, just over 4,000, is relatively small compared to the total number of players. Despite this, the game must show improved performance, especially when competing against other titles that are well-optimized for high-end gaming rigs, as it might struggle with frame rate stability on lower-end systems. In terms of addressing these issues, Capcom has promised to implement enhancements in the upcoming patches scheduled for April.
