Built in the image of the “handsome prince,” Sesshomaru possesses striking features that make him exceptionally alluring. He has two deep purple markings on his cheeks, a distinct crescent moon on his forehead, and long, flowing eyelashes. His height is imposing, and his long, silver hair adds to his regal appearance. He is often seen wearing a white kimono, complemented by a long, flowing sash draped over his shoulder. However, when he appears in his demon form, he resembles a large white dog.
With the lineage of two powerful demon families, Sesshomaru embodies a serious demeanor as a “perfect demon” with formidable abilities: superhuman senses, immense physical strength, and immunity to various poisons. According to Naraku, Sesshomaru is the “ideal demon.”
As a member of an esteemed demon family, Sesshomaru wields significant power and authority. His imposing appearance and refined demeanor contribute to his status as a powerful demon, evoking a sense of awe among his fans.
Sesshomaru’s personality is quite arrogant, preventing him from openly expressing his emotions or showing interest in others. This tendency explains why he brutally attacked Mukotsu when Sango, the demon slayer, and Miroku, the monk, tried to save Kagome from him.
He also values clarity, independence, and dislikes being manipulated by others. This intense dislike extends to his half-brother, InuYasha, whom he once sought to kill to obtain the Tetsusaiga sword.
However, after realizing that InuYasha needed the Tetsusaiga to protect himself from the influence of their demonic bloodline, Sesshomaru changed his perspective and no longer sought to take the sword.
Notably, his encounter with Rin and her joining his group is considered a significant turning point in Sesshomaru’s character development. He consistently shows concern for Rin, rarely leaving her side, and always protects her.
Initially, Sesshomaru was portrayed as a minor character; however, as the story progressed, he became recognized as a central figure. This progression offers an explanation as to why many believe he is more likable than the main protagonist, InuYasha.
