Amidst the Thriving Gaming Landscape, InZoi – a Simulation Game from Krafton – Faces Significant Challenges
Currently, the player count for InZoi is notably lower than that of The Sims 3, a game that has been around since 2009. After nearly three months since its launch, InZoi has lost up to 98% of its player base, and there are no signs of recovery yet.

Initial Popularity and Subsequent Decline
Just before and shortly after its release, InZoi gained significant traction, attracting over 87,000 concurrent players at its peak – a number only slightly lower than that of The Sims 4 during its high points. However, the reality is stark; within just two weeks after launch, the player count plummeted by 85%. A few days later, the figures dropped below the average player count maintained by The Sims 4 over the years. According to data from SteamDB, on June 10, only 817 players were active in InZoi, while The Sims 3, released in June 2009, still managed to hold around 980 players.

Despite The Sims being a long-established brand with a substantial player base, the emergence of a new game like InZoi being overshadowed by a 16-year-old game is a clear indicator of Krafton’s struggles. By the projected date of March 28, 2025, the player count for InZoi had decreased by 99%, with the average over the last 30 days barely surpassing 1,600 players – reflecting a staggering 98% decline. Not only has the player count significantly dropped, but reviews from players have also turned increasingly negative, especially from May to now. Many players have criticized the game as lacking any emotional depth, creativity, or engaging atmosphere.

Despite the current grim situation, InZoi still has the potential for a “revival” as the largest update to date is set to be released on June 13. This update is expected to bring significant changes to the gameplay, including the addition of cheat codes, a new trading system for items among Zois, and improvements to family relationships – elements that many players argue should have been included from the start, especially when compared to The Sims. However, whether these updates will address the underlying issues remains to be seen.
