After the success of the One Piece live-action Season 1 in 2023, the film has quickly been confirmed for a second season.
Currently, the production process for the One Piece live-action Season 2 is underway, and we have learned a bit about the new characters in the film, including Tony Tony Chopper.
Chopper is a reindeer that has consumed the Hito Hito no Mi Devil Fruit, granting him the ability to transform between a normal reindeer and a humanoid form. To understand this character better, there is a lot of speculation and curiosity among fans about how this character will be portrayed in Netflix’s One Piece.
Recently, the first glimpse of this character has been revealed. During Netflix’s Geeked Week, Matt Owens – the screenwriter and executive producer of the One Piece live-action series, introduced the initial look of Chopper after a teaser video was shared with fans.
How will Chopper look in the One Piece live-action?

In this introductory clip, Chopper is depicted using CGI. We can see the back of the reindeer showcasing its iconic hat in a brief scene, and it looks entirely digital. With the antlers emerging from the hat, Chopper’s remaining features are obscured except for its ears. Fans can also spot the fur on Chopper’s back and its antlers.
While it’s still unclear how the young reindeer’s face will look and who will voice this character, we do know that this version of Chopper will be brought to life through CGI and not practical effects. Fans hope the final product will closely resemble the character as depicted in the manga and anime.
It’s clear that the production team at Netflix is putting in a lot of effort to recreate Chopper. Once Chopper’s face is fully revealed, fans are likely to be very excited.
We still do not know who will voice the character of Chopper in Netflix’s One Piece, or whether motion capture technology will be used to bring the Straw Hat doctor to life.
