The comic series One Piece has finally entered the much-anticipated Elbaf arc. The Straw Hat Pirates have arrived in the legendary Elbaf, the homeland of the Giants, known for its formidable warriors.
Following a battle with Admiral Kizaru and the Navy, the crew continues their adventures. This time, Luffy and Usopp explore a place they had previously dreamed of visiting since the Little Garden arc. Not only are Dorry and Brogy present, but all the Giants are joyfully welcoming the Straw Hat crew to their homeland.
In this setting, Luffy and his crew are wandering around the island and visiting various villages. They notice the majestic Walrus and the library, as the Elbaf arc reveals this beautiful and peaceful land. When the Giants welcome Luffy and his companions with a grand feast, Shanks’ brother and a mysterious figure known as Kiki have come to introduce themselves to Loki. Although this unexpected twist may surprise some fans, Eiichiro Oda had decided this long before the manga began airing.

Oda’s Vision of Shanks Prior to the Start of One Piece
In one of the earliest drafts, Oda depicted Shanks as a pirate captain three years after the war. This version may have been included in the Kantai Shinroku, an official guidebook for Monsters 103. This information resurfaced after Oda introduced Shamrock Figarland in Chapter 1137. Shamrock is a pirate captain, just as Oda envisioned over two decades ago. Shamrock has taken over his father Garling’s position after he entered the Navy.
Moreover, Shamrock bears a striking resemblance to Shanks, leading fans to speculate that they might be twin brothers. He was first introduced in Chapter 907, creating quite a stir in the fandom. Many believe Shanks is currently working for the World Government while others have noticed a character on screen resembling Shanks, suggesting he could indeed be Shanks’ twin brother. This chapter was released in June 2018, and Oda finally resolved this mystery.

What is Shamrock Figarland’s Objective Upon Arriving at Elbaf in One Piece?
Shamrock’s primary goal seems to be to persuade Loki to join the Navy, a position reserved solely for World Government officials. Loki is the only one who has been brought to the forefront, albeit not as a Celestial Dragon. However, when the King of Elbaf refuses to comply, Gunko has been sent to intervene. She uses Loki’s wolf skin to distract him and has him captured. Seeing Loki still refusing to cooperate, Shamrock orders Gunko to contact Mary Geoise.
He might also bring reinforcements to Elbaf. If Shamrock succeeds in manipulating the Navy’s forces to Elbaf, a conflict could erupt. The main objective of the Navy is to ensure that the Giants do not ally with the World Government.
The Giants are the strongest warriors in the world and are known for their bravery and resilience. The World Government has long recognized the strength of these giants as a significant threat. Given Shamrock’s cunning strategies, the peaceful homeland of the Giants may soon transform into a battlefield.
