The manga One Piece has introduced Prince Loki in the ongoing Elbaf arc. He was first mentioned during the Whole Cake arc as someone who wanted to marry Charlotte Lola. However, the alliance with Big Mom’s pirate crew was thwarted when Lola was captured, and Loki declined to marry Lola’s twin sister, Chiffon.
Subsequently, Chapter 1130 formally introduced Loki, depicting him as being caught in a large tree in Minji. Loki is currently hiding because he is wanted for the assassination of King Harald. The locals do not believe that Loki has killed the king due to a legendary curse. At times, they express their disdain towards the prince of the kingdom.
Loki is known as the rightful prince of Elbaf, who has caused chaos in the villages. Despite not being favored, the locals still hold a grudging respect for the prince. They decided to capture and imprison Loki after he allegedly killed the king whom they revered. While Loki was wandering around the coastal areas, Shanks helped the locals capture the prince.
Despite his bad reputation, Loki may be hiding a secret. The manga has hinted that although Loki wants to wipe out the world, he does not have any evil intentions.

The Elbaf Arc of One Piece Will Soon Reveal the Tragic Events Following King Harald’s Death
The most significant hint is presented in One Piece Chapter 1137 when Jarul mentions that he was attacked by Loki. Few people were present during King Harald’s death, but Jarul is aware of the truth. He might be hiding the truth for the sake of Elbaf’s interests, and Loki knows what is at stake. Additionally, despite their initial animosity, Loki and Luffy may have the opportunity to connect during their first encounter. Although Luffy can be quite reckless, he often quickly grasps the essence of a person.
Not only does Loki trust Shanks, but Luffy even attempts to strike a deal with the rightful prince. Furthermore, we have seen Loki’s desperation when trying to escape his own predicament. Even when Shamrock and Gunko offered him a chance to escape, he still declined to join the Rebel Alliance.
Loki is still trying to conceal his secrets while the locals are growing increasingly skeptical of him regarding the Celestial Dragons. He is even unflinching when Gunko interrogates him. If he were able to take his father’s throne, he would not hesitate to take drastic measures to escape.
Loki holds the ideals of a warrior while being charismatic and dignified. Like many others, he believes in Nika and aspires to become a legendary warrior. Moreover, those beasts living in his vicinity are not just existing to cause destruction. Just as they are loyal to Luffy, they are also loyal to Loki.
However, the beasts seem to be inevitably drawn to the good-hearted individuals. They trust Loki and are ready to risk their lives to protect him. In Chapter 1136, Loki mourns the death of the wolf that fell to protect him and wants to eliminate the world.

Loki Might Be the Hidden Hero of the World Government
In One Piece Chapter 1137, Shamrock reveals the intention to align with Elbaf, indicating that he does not intend to wage war against the strongest kingdom in the world without any preparation. The World Government has always been wary of the growing power of the locals. They have set a significant bounty of 2.6 million berries on Loki’s head six years ago. This bounty has left the World Government very concerned about the situation.
King Harald was expanding trade outside of Elbaf, which could make the World Government increasingly anxious. He is beloved by the people, and he seeks peace instead of war. There is a possibility he might be viewed as a threat, and it would be very difficult for the World Government to maintain their fragile peace if Elbaf were to stop cooperating and align with other nations. If the World Government or even Shamrock could discover that Loki was responsible for his father’s assassination, it would explain why Loki continuously speaks about annihilating the world.
Despite being powerful, the locals still yearn for peace in their kingdom. They are adamant about the idea of a beautiful land being transformed into a battlefield. This could be the reason why Jarul hides the truth – to maintain the fragile peace that his kingdom has. Unfortunately, the Marines have reached Elbaf and are seeking ways to achieve their objectives, even if it means destroying Elbaf.
