As it turns out, Oda has hinted at the answer in the latest chapters of One Piece.
The Monster Trio: The Core Strength of the Straw Hat Pirates
When discussing the strength of the Straw Hat Pirates, it is clear that the core trio, known as the Monster Trio, constitutes a significant portion of their power. Together, this trio represents around 30% of the overall strength of the Straw Hat crew. However, this 30% is backed by the strongest combat power within the group, leaving the remaining 70% to be somewhat inadequate by comparison.
Among the trio, Luffy is the strongest member, operating at a completely different level. While Zoro and Sanji are also formidable, they are still at a lower tier compared to Luffy within the context of the One Piece world. It’s only a matter of time before they become strong enough to compete with the top-tier pirates.
Other Members Are Impressive, But Need More Showcasing
The remaining members of the crew have yet to fully showcase their talents in a way that matches the expectations set by Oda. However, the Elbaf arc has provided hints about their potential, indicating that while they may be strong, they still risk falling short in comparison to the other top crews.
During the Elbaf arc, Jinbe, Nami, Usopp, and Brook have amassed a bounty exceeding 2 billion Beri, primarily due to their unique contributions and accomplishments. This is a notable achievement, especially since no other Emperor’s crew has been able to replicate such a feat.
Nico Robin has also established herself as a key member, being the only one left standing with a bounty that corresponds to her value, especially after her intense battles against formidable foes. This indicates that while Jinbe and Robin have potential, the other members need to step up their game.
Does the Straw Hat Pirates’ Strength Match Other Yonko Crews?
It goes without saying that the elite fighters of the Straw Hat Pirates are on par with the top warriors of other Yonko crews. However, the other crew members still need to bolster their strength further. Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Robin have already demonstrated their considerable prowess.
