The latest chapter of One Punch Man, Chapter 179, focuses on the epic battle between Saitama and Tatsumaki. The “exchange” between the two has shifted to an area outside the Hero Association. Meanwhile, the Tsukuyomi organization’s stronghold is being defended by Tatsumaki, who has suddenly become serious.
1. Saitama is still in a standoff with Tatsumaki
Tatsumaki’s psychic force has pushed Saitama outside as both have crossed into the area outside the residential zone. Tatsumaki is dazed due to the pressure and suddenly begins to lose control. The chaotic nature of her powers makes Saitama the target of her attacks.
Not only that, but she also spins rapidly to escape Saitama’s “grasp.” Unfortunately, Tatsumaki’s power still fails because he doesn’t seem to be affected. Saitama remains calm, suggesting that Tatsumaki needs to focus to avoid destroying his home again.
Hearing the reason for the conflict, the superpowered girl becomes increasingly agitated. She does not like the idea of being vulnerable, believing that she cannot let her guard down around someone she cares about. Tatsumaki is determined to initiate an offensive against Saitama, and her attack only serves to push him back without any real effect.
Thus, she continues to create a swirling vortex that leaves Saitama feeling bewildered, realizing that her superpowers can indeed be used this way.
2. The Tsukuyomi organization has retreated
The scene has shifted to the Hero Association, where the members of the Blizzard Group and other heroes begin to discuss the current situation.
Initially, the atmosphere was quite pleasant. However, the heroes soon became alarmed by the sound of powerful blasts echoing from the Tsukuyomi stronghold. Naturally, the superpowered girl has retreated by descending to the lower levels, escaping through the back exit.
They escaped by boarding a vehicle and moving outside the city limits.
3. The identity of the Tsukuyomi leader has been revealed
Until the moment of the battle with Tatsumaki, we had yet to learn the name of the Tsukuyomi leader. However, in this latest chapter, the name of the leader has been revealed to be Apollo. Through a conversation in the vehicle, the alias that was discussed in the Blizzard Group has indicated the condition of the remaining members. Apollo mentions that they will ensure Tatsumaki does not get involved again.
4. Saitama and Tatsumaki’s battle has impacted the surrounding civilians
After creating a swirling vortex, Tatsumaki finally attacks Saitama by launching multiple debris towards him. However, nearly all of Tatsumaki’s assaults end up being deflected by Saitama.
As a result, one of the debris pieces thrown by Tatsumaki struck a car with three civilians inside. Thankfully, Saitama managed to intercept the debris in time. He warns Tatsumaki to be more careful. The superpowered girl seems unconcerned and continues her assault.
From that moment, Saitama begins to realize that he can no longer communicate with Tatsumaki in a calm manner. He decides to keep countering her attacks until she can regain her composure.
Anyone would have been surprised by one of the debris pieces that Saitama deflected towards the car. And this time, Tatsumaki was the one who created the debris, then shouted at him to be careful.
Sadly, when Tatsumaki shouted at Saitama, calling him “a nuisance,” he responded by calling her “a pain in the neck.” As a result, the superpowered girl immediately withdrew, intensifying her efforts to attack.
5. Tatsumaki still considers Saitama to be a troublesome person
Seeing that Saitama only seems to dodge attacks, Tatsumaki keeps insisting that this hero is incapable of doing the extraordinary things she can. She even believes that Saitama does not truly care about her and doesn’t want to hand Fubuki over to anyone, just like that.
On the other hand, Saitama himself seems to want to return home as soon as possible.
