Faker’s Hall of Legends Induction Sparks Controversy
In 2024, Riot Games launched the Hall of Legends initiative to honor players who have made significant contributions to the League of Legends community. Among the first players recognized, no one was more deserving than Faker. However, recent information suggests that the player could cause significant controversy, specifically Uzi.

In the LPL, Uzi is regarded as the “Super ADC.” Many fans still remember his strong performances as an AD carry when he had the right resources. However, throughout his career, Uzi has yet to win a World Championship title. Moreover, many believe that Uzi still does not measure up to other prominent players like Ruler, Gumayusi, or previously, Bang and Deft.
The reason for Uzi’s high status is primarily due to his outstanding ADC playstyle. However, when facing particularly strong opponents, or if the game dynamics shift against him, Uzi and his team, Royal Never Give Up, often struggle. “In the LPL, Deft has beaten me multiple times, and at Worlds, I faced Piglet and Bang. Despite the meta and the favorable matchups, I still couldn’t succeed,” one fan remarked.

In contrast, players like Bang, Deft, Ruler, and Gumayusi are often seen as ADCs who can carry their teams effectively. The carrying ability of Bang or Ruler does not require much adjustment. Gumayusi is still emerging but has already showcased exceptional talent. Deft has frequently faced Uzi while playing for Edward Gaming.
Uzi’s Path to Hall of Legends: A Complex Journey
On the surface, Uzi has the fame and skill required for recognition. However, two crucial elements he lacks are notoriety and a significant impact in professional tournaments. Whether at RNG or BLG, Uzi has not been the leading figure. More importantly, Uzi is not the type of ADC who can thrive when the rest of his team is struggling, which has been evident throughout his career.

Furthermore, Uzi has not had a consistently long career with remarkable achievements or milestones in the history of League of Legends. It is worth noting that he is just one year younger than Faker, and many 97-liners are still actively competing, while Uzi seems to have closed the chapter on his career for quite some time.
The LPL audience may not have any strong objections if Uzi is inducted into the Hall of Legends. However, given the competitive nature of the League of Legends community, this will be one of the names that provoke the most discussion regarding the current state of the competitive scene.
