Tencent Announces Delta Force World Championship 2025
Just two days after the launch of the mobile version of the tactical shooter game Delta Force, Tencent (published by Level Infinite) has made waves by announcing plans to host the Delta Force World Championship 2025. The event is set to take place in September 2025, featuring participation from teams across six major global regions: Europe, North America, South America, China, APAC (Asia – Pacific), and Southeast Asia.
This initiative is viewed as a significant step for Tencent as it aims to establish Delta Force as a new powerhouse in the mobile Esports landscape, which is currently dominated by MOBA titles.

The championship will comprise two main game modes: Warfare and Operation. The Operation mode will utilize the Mandelbrick point system across six matches, creating an exciting and engaging experience for viewers during the live broadcasts. However, the organizers have yet to officially announce the selected teams participating in this year’s championship, along with the prize pool details.
Tencent’s Aspiration in Esports
Before the global championship kicks off, a separate competition named the Delta Force Global League Season 1 has already taken place in Europe and North America. The finals were held on April 25-26, with a total prize pool of up to $45,000. This event is designed to be a pilot experience and sets the foundation for a professional Esports ecosystem surrounding Delta Force in the future.

The launch of this championship reflects Tencent’s clear ambition to expand its presence in the mobile tactical shooter genre—a segment that has not yet seen many strong contenders on the international stage. Particularly, as most current mobile Esports competitions revolve around MOBA games, the entry of Delta Force serves as a refreshing new wind, potentially attracting larger audiences globally.

Although the Southeast Asian region has not been officially confirmed to host any qualifying rounds, being included in the list of six primary regions for the championship opens up opportunities for teams from Vietnam to compete. This is undoubtedly good news for the gaming community in Vietnam, especially for those seeking opportunities within a new professional Esports environment.
