Why “Honor of Kings” is Called the “King” of MOBA Games
When discussing the fame of Honor of Kings, there are many words to express it. However, a simpler way to visualize this phenomenon is to look at the revenue it has generated in 2024.
Before diving into the specific numbers, it’s important to note that Honor of Kings is the “golden goose” of Tencent. For nearly a decade, this blockbuster has never been “out of style,” even outperforming many other competitors to maintain its position as the “king” of its domain. Recently, Sohu reported the exact revenue that this game is expected to achieve in 2024. Here’s how it looks:

The revenue of Honor of Kings is projected to reach 377.98 billion Chinese Yuan in 2024. In comparison, the revenue for 2023 was 328.43 billion Chinese Yuan, indicating a growth of 15.09% this year. This suggests that every day, the game generates more than 100 million Chinese Yuan.
In Vietnamese currency, the revenue that Honor of Kings earns is approximately 1.307803 trillion VND (1.3 trillion VND). This figure is significantly higher than our earlier estimates, further proving the remarkable dominance that Tencent holds in the current gaming market.
Beyond Honor of Kings, Tencent Also Dominates with Other Blockbuster Games
Aside from its flagship game, Honor of Kings, Tencent also boasts three other titles that consistently claim the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th spots on the revenue leaderboard. These include PUBG Mobile with approximately 190 billion Chinese Yuan, Dungeon Fighter Mobile with nearly 150 billion Chinese Yuan, and Arena of Valor with around 80 billion Chinese Yuan.

Thus, it is evident that Tencent’s influence in the Chinese gaming market, and globally, is substantial and continues to grow.
