miHoYo Tops Global Gacha Game Revenue Rankings with Honkai: Star Rail
The global revenue rankings for Gacha games in April 2025 have seen significant fluctuations, as many popular titles have emerged, surpassing previous standards. Notably, miHoYo continues to dominate with two blockbuster games leading the rankings.

With an astounding revenue of $102,450,000, Honkai: Star Rail officially dethrones Pokémon TCG Pocket to become the highest-grossing Gacha game in April 2025. The jump of three spots from the previous month has solidified this game’s position in the market, especially as it celebrated its significant anniversary with a dedicated community of players. This represents a remarkable growth rate, as Honkai: Star Rail’s revenue in the previous month was only around $30 million.

Additionally, Wuthering Waves – another title from Kuro Games – also made its mark in the top 5, with a revenue of 23,375,000 USD, climbing two places from March. The synergy between innovative gameplay and an engaging storyline has helped this title maintain a strong player base and attract new users.

On the other hand, it is impossible not to mention Genshin Impact, a game that has long been a revenue leader. However, in April, it saw a decline, dropping to 6th place with 22,690,000 USD – a decrease of over $17 million compared to the previous month. This drop can be attributed to the lack of significant new content during this period, as Genshin Impact is preparing for the highly anticipated version 5.0 update.
SD Gundam – A Fresh Competitor in the Gacha Segment
One of the most surprising entries this month is SD Gundam G Generation Eternal, debuting at 11th place with a revenue of 14,000,000 USD. This new title has just launched this month, yet it has generated significant interest, indicating a strong potential in the Gacha market. It demonstrates that the Gundam franchise still holds a considerable player base, eager to engage with new content.

Besides Gundam, other noteworthy titles include Onmyoji (24th place – 5,807,500 USD) and Tokyo Debunker (44th place – 2,700,000 USD), which also contributed to the rankings. The Gacha market still has many opportunities for new products, as long as developers focus on delivering clear content and quality experiences.
Conversely, several established titles have faced challenges this month. Uma Musume: Pretty Derby dropped to 17th place, Disney Twisted-Wonderland fell 15 spots, and Bang Dream! Girls Band Party! dropped 12 places compared to the previous month.

Overall, April 2025 marks a significant turning point for miHoYo, as this Chinese game company not only maintains its dominance but also expands its influence with high-grossing titles. Meanwhile, the rise of SD Gundam and several other new entrants indicates that the Gacha market remains highly competitive and dynamic.
